The AP OC-3 UNI interface module offers an ATM cell bearing OC-3 UNI interface to the Access Processor platform, enabling connection to ATM services, either as a network or a switch port. The OC-3 ATM UNI module operates at 155Mbps and is standards compliant with the ITU-T OC-3 specification.

Status LEDs are provided to indicate that real traffic is passing across the ATM interface and also to indicate which is the currently active port. These modules are "Hot Swappable" to ease maintenance, with replacement modules recovering immediately without further configuration.

This module performs physical layer and ATM layer functions including framing, alarm processing and cell delineation. Flexible clocking modes remove network synchronisation problems. Statistics are gathered at all layers and loop backs are available to aid diagnostic functions. OEM alarm and loopback functions are supported as per UNI 3.1

Management and configuration of this module is achieved via the simple menu driven user interface of the Access Processor which also supports SNMP traps.
