The APX Flexi-LAN Module is a member of the APX Universal Interface Module range. The Flexi-LAN Module provides the user with the capability to transparently bridge between two LAN segments over an ATM network. The Flexi-LAN Module adapts between packets and cells using unstructured AAL.1 adaptation. The available bandwidth is programmable in 1bps granularity. The Flexi-LAN Module terminates a single ATM CBR PVC. The Flexi-LAN Module offers a single LAN interface presented on an auto negotiating, auto cross-over RJ45 connector. Additionally, manual configuration for fixed speed and duplex mode is supported. The Flexi-LAN Module offers a protocol transparent, point to point, bridge connection to another Flexi-LAN Module and supports full wire-speed forwarding if sufficient bandwidth is allocated. (Note that due to the AAL.1 adaptation scheme, 100Mbs of LAN traffic will require 113Mbps of ATM Bandwidth ). The Flexi-LAN Module provides local MAC address filtering at full wirespeed, and maintains a 4096 entry local MAC address filter table. Management and configuration of the Flexi-LAN Module is achieved via the simple menu driven user interface. Extensive statistics and status information are available to the user interface. Additionally SNMP Traps may be generated to indicate Link Up/Down. | | | | 10/100 Base TX | | RJ45 (Auto Cross over MDI / MDI-X) | | Auto-Negotiate, Manual | | 10Mbps, 100Mbps | | Half, Full | | Transparent | | Local filtering, storage of 4096 MAC addresses | | 148810 packets per second | | 1kbps to 100Mbps (ATM Bandwidth 1.3k to 113Mbps) | | 148810 64 byte packets per second (Full Duplex) | | Non local Uni-cast, Multi-Cast, Broadcast | | 1536 bytes (support for VLAN, MPLS large frames) | | AAL.1 | | Link/activity, speed | | IEEE802.3, ITU-363.1 (AAL.1), EN60950, EN55022, EN50082 | | 0-40C, 0-95% RH Non Condensing 86-10KPa |
