The AP EIA530 UNI interface module offers an ATM cell bearing EIA530 UNI interface to the Access Processor platform, enabling converged ATM applications to be transported across EIA530 satellite links. An EIA530 DTE port is provided allowing direct connection to most EIA530 satellite modems.

Status LEDs are provided to indicate that real traffic is passing across the ATM interface and also to indicate which is the currently active port. These modules are "Hot Swappable" to ease maintenance, with replacement modules recovering immediately without further configuration.

This module performs physical layer and ATM layer functions including framing, alarm processing and cell delineation. Flexible clocking modes remove network synchronisation problems. Statistics are gathered at all layers and loop backs are available to aid diagnostic functions. OEM alarm and loopback functions are supported as per UNI 3.1

Management and configuration of this module is achieved via the simple menu driven user interface of the Access Processor which also supports SNMP traps.
