The E3 CBR Interface Module is a members of the APX Universal Interface Module range. The E3 CBR Module enables connection to a non ATM service, for example a Radio. The E3 CBR module operates at the ITU-T Standard data rate of 34.368Mbps and is standards compliant.

The E3 CBR Module can provide multiple, unstructured interface ports. This CBR Module is "Hot Swappable" to ease maintenance with replacement modules recovering immediately without further configuration.

Each E3 CBR module performs adaptation of the incoming bit stream using AAL.1 to segment it into ATM cells. At the far end, the bit stream in reassembled, again using AAL.1. End to end timing is maintained through the use of adaptive clocking and jitter attenuation.

Management and configuration of the CBR Module is achieved via the simple menu driven user interface and may be monitored using SNMP Traps.
