Metrodata have developed a product called the FC-GigE for interfacing Multimode 1000Base-SX to Single Mode 1000Base-LX. This can be used to extend the Gigabit Ethernet interface of the Comtech EFDATA SLM5650 Satellite Modem to 10 kilometres.
